An ISA, or Individual Savings Account, allows you to invest up to the annual ISA allowance each tax year and pay no tax on the income you receive from the ISA or on any capital gains you make. An Investment ISA invests in stocks and shares, compared with a Cash ISA which invests only in cash. We, at Chelsea, offer Investment ISAs.
To open an adult ISA you have to be aged 16 or over if the ISA is a cash ISA, or 18 or over if the ISA is an investment ISA. You also have to be resident in the UK for tax purposes, or a Crown employee, such as a diplomat or a member of the armed forces who is working overseas and paid by the Government. The spouse, or civil partner, of one of these people can also open an ISA.
You cannot hold an ISA jointly with, or on behalf of, anyone else.
The current annual limit is £20,000 and contributors can either invest a lump sum or make regular monthly savings.
You can choose from over 2,500 funds available on the FundStore platform. You can invest across different fund providers within the same tax year, as long as you invest on the platform. If you would like to look at some funds more closely, or would like help in narrowing the choice down, please visit our Research Centre where you will find a wealth of tools to aid you in your fund selection, including the facility to search by yield or Chelsea Risk Rating.

Please remember that the value of investments will fluctuate and returns may be less than the amount originally invested. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and the ISA and tax rules can change. Whilst we may draw attention to certain investment products, we cannot know which of them, if any, is best for your circumstances and must leave that judgement to you. If you are unsure about the suitability of any investment you should seek professional advice.
