This information will have been provided, or will be provided, by you in the course of your contracting with Chelsea Financial Services PLC.

Accuracy of your information

We will obtain all or some of the information above when you contract with us for the provision of investment services. As a client of Chelsea Financial Services PLC, you are required to advise us of any change in your personal information so that we may update our records accordingly. From time to time, in the ordinary course of business we may also contact you to verify that the information that we hold is accurate and up to date.

How we use your information

The above information is used to provide our services to you in our capacity as a provider of execution only investment services.

  • To undertake a search with a reference agency to verify your identity
  • For the administration and service of your account and investments
  • To meet relevant regulatory and legal obligations
  • To communicate with your nominated advisor
  • To provide you with an appropriate customer service experience
  • To keep you informed of the products services offered by us

How we hold your information

All the personal data we have is stored on our database in the UK / EU or in hardcopy form. Hardcopy information is securely stored at St James Hall, Moore Park Road, London SW6 2JS.

Where Chelsea Financial Services PLC are required to continue holding and processing your data due to legal or regulatory obligations, we will advise you of this fact in our response to your request to withdraw your consent.

When you apply for an account at Chelsea Financial Services you must provide certain personal information. We may carry out credit and identity checks when you apply for a product or services for you or your business. We may use Credit Reference Agencies and Fraud Prevention Agencies to help us with this.

Using information about you in this way is necessary for us to make this decision and if you do not provide it to us, we may not be able to offer you an account or service. Your information will be used by us and these agencies as follows:

  • We will check records about you and others held by them and by Credit Reference and Fraud Prevention agencies, for example to assess your application for a product and verify identities to prevent and detect crime and money laundering. The Credit Reference Agencies will place a search footprint on your credit file that may be seen by other lenders. They will supply public information (for example information held on the electoral register) as well as shared credit and fraud prevention information. The Fraud Prevention Agencies will use your personal information to prevent fraud and money-laundering and to verify your identity.
  • If you are making a joint application or if you advise us of a director or that you have a spouse or financial associate, they will link your records together so you must be sure that you have their agreement to disclose information about them. Credit Reference Agencies also link your records together and these links will remain on your and their files until such a time as you, a director or your partner successfully files for a disassociation with the Credit Reference Agencies to break that link.
  • If you give us false or inaccurate information or we suspect or identify fraud, we will record this and may also pass on the information to Fraud Prevention Agencies and other organisations involved in crime prevention. Law enforcement agencies may also access and use this information. If fraud is detected, you could be refused certain services, finance or employment.
  • Chelsea Financial Services and other organisations may access and use from other countries the information recorded by Fraud Prevention Agencies, which may be publicly-available sources.
  • Your data may also be used for other purposes for which you give your permission or, in limited circumstances, when required by law or where permitted under the terms of relevant data protection and privacy law.

Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your information to our agents and service providers for the purposes of the administration and servicing of your account, your investments and all other related activities. We may also disclose your information to organisations (including the Financial Conduct Authority and HMRC) for the purposes of complying with legal and regulatory obligations.

Where our agreement with you includes a contractual relationship, either new or existing, with Aegon, Aegon and Chelsea Financial Services PLC will both act in the capacity of Data Controller. Aegon will use your information for the administration and servicing of your account, your investment and all other related activities.

Personal data shall not be transferred to a country or territory outside the EEA by Chelsea Financial Services PLC, unless that country or territory ensures an adequate level of protection or the appropriate safeguards are in place for your rights and freedoms.

What is the legal basis for processing your information?

We will rely on your consent to process the information which is collected at the outset of the account opening process through your contracting with Chelsea Financial Services Plc.

Your rights
