New manager appointed to Fidelity American fund

19th August 2015 – Fidelity have announced that, from 1st September 2015, Aditya Khowala will take on the management of the Fidelity American fund.

Aditya, who has been part of Fidelity's investment team since 2006 and runs the offshore American Growth fund and the FAST US fund, will replace Peter Kaye, who will be leaving the company after a period of transition.

Aditya’s investment philosophy is based on the premise that markets are driven by long-term cycles and structural growth themes. Businesses that can capitalise on such multi-year themes are able to grow their sales and earnings faster than the market, and will ultimately be rewarded by investors. He is valuation-sensitive and looks for the structural winners within the secular growth trends he has identified. He typically runs a more concentrated portfolio of stocks than Peter.

The fund retains its generic hold rating.
