Mark Barnett takes over management of Invesco Perpetual funds ahead of schedule

6 March 2014 - Invesco Perpetual have announced that Mark Barnett will take on the management of the Invesco Perpetual High Income and Income funds with immediate effect – eight weeks ahead of the original end-April start date.

Neil Woodford, who ran the High Income fund for 25 years since its launch in 1988, and the Income fund since 1990, is leaving the firm at the end of April to start his own fund management business; Woodford Investment Management.

In a statement, Invesco Perpetual's CEO Mark Armour said: “Our transition plans have progressed well since October 2013, and Mark is ready to assume responsibility for the funds.”

Chelsea currently has both Invesco Perpetual funds as a hold rating.

Neil Woodford is set to launch a UK Equity Income fund in May, via a three-week offer period. Chelsea will be providing clients with details on the new fund as soon as they are available.
