Legg Mason funds renamed – including four from the Chelsea Selection
12 August 2021 – Following its acquisition by Franklin Templeton in 2020, the names of a number of Legg Mason funds have now been changed.
As part of the integration of the Franklin Templeton and Legg Mason groups, Legg Mason has agreed to retire as the authorise corporate director (ACD) of the company and operations to Franklin Templeton (which will become the new ACD).
From 7 August 2021, the name of the company has therefore changed from Legg Mason Funds ICVC to Franklin Templeton Funds II in order to reflect Franklin Templeton as the new ACD.
The names of each of Legg Mason’s funds have also been changed to reflect the name of the new ACD (through the use of the prefix “FTF”) – including Legg Mason IF Martin Currie European Unconstrained, which is on the Chelsea Core Selection, and Legg Mason IF Japan Equity, Legg Mason IF Martin Currie US Unconstrained and Legg Mason IF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income, which are all on the Chelsea Selection.
No action is required by investors. The management teams and processes for each fund remain the same.
