1 October 2018 - With a career spanning 40 years, Ian Spreadbury, manager of Fidelity Extra Income, Fidelity Moneybuilder Balanced, Fidelity Moneybuilder Income and Fidelity Strategic Bond funds has announced that he will be retiring at the end of 2018.
Ian has been a very successful bond fund manager for more than two decades and has outperformed his peer group by more than 40% since the start of the millennium*.
Commenting on the news, Darius McDermott, managing director of Chelsea Financial Services, said: “Ian's retirement is not a surprise. He has had a successful career in fixed income for four decades now and although his experience will be missed, Fidelity's fixed income team is very strong and his succession planning has been well sign-posted, with a number of co- and deputy managers been added to his portfolios over the past few years.
