The portfolio scan and comparison report tool allows you to create a portfolio and view the breakdown and performance of a portfolio as a whole.
Similar to the charting tool, you must start by choosing the funds that you are wanting to compare. For this example we will be choosing a Chelsea EasyISA, and a random fund from the platform. You can of course choose a different fund or portfolio to look at.
Begin by choosing the fund you would like to add to your portfolio and ADD+ it to the basket.
To choose a Chelsea EasyISA you will need to firstly click onto the Chelsea EasyISA tab. When you click the ADD+ button of your selected EasyISA you will be given the option to either “add to basket” or “add to portfolio”. Choose “add to my portfolio”.
You can then add the extra funds from “my basket”, as shown.
Once you have added all of the funds you would like to compare, there are a number of ways you can compare them:
TIP: When using the “Portfolio scan” you will be asked to weight the funds. You can equally weight all of the funds by clicking “Equally Weight” under the chart, or weight them as you wish.
Portfolio scan
Simply click “Portfolio Scan” found next to “Equally Weight” in order to start the portfolio scan.
You will then be prompted to complete the sector and time period you would like scanned.
TIP: When choosing a sector, make sure that you scroll down to UK Investment Association, and choose a sector from there.
This will take you through to the portfolio scan. By clicking through the tabs you can see how the fund has performed, how the fund is broken down, the risk and the top holdings.
You can print a pdf version by clicking “View pdf version” and printing.
Comparison report
In the comparison report you can compare between two and four funds in detail. Simply click “Comparison Report”, which can be found next to “Portfolio Scan”.
This will generate a pdf with some helpful information about how the funds compare.
Buy portfolio
After you have compared the funds, you may wish to purchase them. To do this, simply click “Buy Portfolo”, found next to “Chart All” at the bottom of the page, which will take you through to Chelsea FundStore. From there, simply follow the instructions.
TIP: If you would like to remove one or more funds that you have been comparing before “purchasing the portfolio”, you can do so by clicking “Delete” on the table.
If you would like to add a new fund(s), click “Select a fund” next to “Chelsea EasyISA” along the top of the page. You can get back to your portfolio by clicking “My portfolio”
