AXA Distribution manager leaves to join Royal London Asset Management

22nd February 2016 – Richard Marwood, co-manager of AXA Investment Manager's range of Distribution funds, has decided to leave the company and join Royal London Asset Management.

Richard has been at AXA Investment Managers for more than 20 years. The move will see him join Royal London's equity team, although details of which fund or funds he will manage there have yet to be revealed.

Commenting on the move, Piers Hillier, chief investment officer at Royal London, said: “Richard is a key hire. His strong history of managing equities across a range of market conditions will be valuable for both us and our clients as we continue to build out our offering in this area.”

Head of AXA IM's Distribution range, and the remaining co-manager, Jim Stride, will continue to run the funds.  He will be supported by Jamie Forbes-Wilson, Matthew Huddart and William Howard, who have all been promoted to co-managers as a result of Richard's departure.

Jamie, who has been responsible for managing income strategies for AXA IM Framlington since 2009, will manage the Distribution and Lifetime Distribution funds.

Matthew has worked on the Distribution team for 16 years and will become manager of the Defensive Distribution and Ethical Distribution funds.

William, who is lead portfolio manager of the AXA WF Framlington Global High Income fund, will take over as co-manager on the Global Distribution fund.
